ICE WAS NOT ONLY ‘BROKEN’, IT WAS CRUSHED!!!
Trichy, 12th July: As always, the first week here in BIM was yet again loaded with action. Action that saw each and every one of our newly joined family members, BIM23 running with chits in their hands looking for their mystery seniors. Earlier, nicknames were given to each and every PGP2 student and the chits carrying the same were randomly distributed (some even claim that sophisticated statistical packages were used for achieving this) among the ‘freshers’. While some could easily to crack the code (each had to find out the senior whose nickname he/she had got along with the senior’s roommates), most found it very hard with almost no help coming in initially. However help from seniors did come in later stages but not without cool drinks and chocolates in exchange. OM SHREE Shop, in the process banked in good profits. As the drama subsided, it gave way to another one. As usual, the ice breaking session started off with PGP1 entertaining PGP2 by exhibiting their skill sets which included singing, dancing and every other skill that the ‘bullying’ seniors wanted them to. Even though the majority of fatchas were with a work-ex of more than 2 years, all were eager to take their turns and make way for effective relationships in days to come. Kudos to the newcomers!!!
ITALY WINS IN STYLE, BIM CHEERS IN STYLE…
Trichy, 12th July: The event managers of BIM, KALAIKOM kicked off the year, showing the live match of football world cup finals on a huge projector screen in East End Gardens on 9th of July. As the ardent fans of football came with their face painted to support their teams, the tension in the crowd started shooting up exponentially when the first yellow card came up. The penalty shot of Zidane sent the French supporters jumping in the air. But all their enthusiasm was curbed down very soon when Italy equalised through Materazzi. There was constant hooting through out the 120 minutes of play from both the Italian and the French stands. Anxiety levels attained peaks when Zidane was shown the red card and when a few minutes later the match moved into Penalties. Italian supporters left happier than their rivals after their team won the shootouts. In all, it was real good entertainment. Kalaikom, as always did an excellent job.
